Where I Stand.

Well, actually, I’m sitting at the moment…

The Homunculus game is cancelled.  I only had an animation or two to go and I got a text about 4 or so days before deadline from my programmer telling me to stop.  Maybe next year, Indiecade.

But I did get a lot of projects dropped in my lap, so I was pretty much over the disappointment by the next day.  I’ve also been cranking on a long haul project I started last year.  It was hard to do with a job and full time school running.  I pray this summer will fare better for its production calendar.

Things of note that have happened:

1. Since I wrote my last blog post for my .com here, I found out my game, The Oil Blue, was featured in 250 Indie Games you Must Play by Mike Rose.

2. The Night of the Meteor game I did some art for was mentioned on indiegames.com as well as Kotaku!

3. I pledged money to the Indie Game Movie, which managed to get fully funded on Kickstarter in about 24 hours, which is ridiculous!  (and awesome)

I also finished the full rewrite and reformatting of the “screenplay”/script of my graphic novel.  I’ve given myself the green light to move into production.  I’m painting little color keys of the (ungodly) amount of sets, character designs, and I should probably get around to making my own font sometime soon.  The final draft clocks in at 540 pages.  My resolve is to publish it digitally on the web.  If I do the comic as a weekly installment, it’ll take me over 10 years to finish.  So I’m going to push myself toward a bi-weekly format.  I love my story, but I don’t want to pamper it for another 10 years.  The thought of devoting a total of 15 years (about 5 were spent writing the story in my spare time) to it just makes me cringe.  I still have to create the thing in my spare time (making enough to eat being slightly more important), so it’ll take a while longer to get off the ground.  In the meanwhile, here are some concept paintings in various states of completion:
